Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Edged. By accessing or using the Edged mobile application, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Edged is a platform that connects customers seeking lawn care and exterior maintenance services with independent service providers. Edged does not itself perform lawn care services. Service providers are independent contractors, not employees of Edged.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information as needed
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. Customer Terms

As a customer using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate property information and service requirements
  • Ensure safe and accessible conditions for service providers
  • Be available or provide clear instructions for scheduled services
  • Pay for completed services in full, including any applicable fees and tips
  • Treat service providers with respect and professionalism

5. Service Provider Terms

As a service provider using the Service, you agree to:

  • Provide services in a professional, timely, and workmanlike manner
  • Maintain all necessary licenses, permits, and insurance
  • Arrive on time for scheduled appointments or communicate delays promptly
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards
  • Accurately represent your qualifications, experience, and capabilities

Service providers are independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship between you and Edged.

6. Payments and Fees

  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Service prices are estimated before booking and may be adjusted based on actual conditions encountered during service.
  • Edged charges a platform fee (commission) on each completed service, which is deducted from the provider's payout.
  • Refunds and disputes are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support for assistance.
  • Tips are optional and go directly to the service provider.

7. Cancellations and No-Shows

  • Customers may cancel a booking in advance. Late cancellations may be subject to a cancellation fee.
  • Service providers who fail to show up for scheduled services may face penalties including reduced reliability scores, suspension, or removal from the platform.
  • Edged reserves the right to issue credits or refunds to customers affected by provider no-shows.

8. Ratings and Reviews

After each completed service, customers may rate and review their service provider. Reviews must be honest, accurate, and not contain abusive or defamatory content. Edged reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may not:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
  • Submit false or misleading information
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid fees
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Create multiple accounts to avoid penalties or restrictions

10. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app's Profile settings or by contacting us at support@edgedlawns.com.

Edged reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or are inactive for an extended period.

11. Limitation of Liability

Edged is a platform that connects customers and service providers. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of services performed by providers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Edged shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Edged, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
